Britney to get her own sitcom?

US TV bosses are so thrilled with Britney Spears' guest spot on sitcom 'How I Met Your Mother', they want to give the pop star her own show. The singer's cameo as a secretary in the comedy was a huge success when it aired this week, attracting 10 million viewers - its highest ever ratings.

And network chiefs at CBS are now planning to hand Spears future guest appearances, before creating her own spin-off sitcom.
Sources tell the National Enquirer: "Britney did a great job playing the cute, funny receptionist - and really enjoyed herself.

"Doing a TV show will help Britney keep focused - plus keep her in Los Angeles, where she can see her kids regularly and create a positive work routine."

Britney Spears Celebrates Mom’s Birthday

Believe it or not, the recent drama in Britney Spears’ life just may have helped her family dynamic. Last night the “Gimme More” singer was out with father Jamie and mother Lynne to celebrate Lynne’s birthday.

The Spears trio landed at CafĂ© Malibu in Malibu, California for an enchanted evening that saw Jamie and Lynne acting more civil and loving than they have since their divorce. Could it be that some good could actually come out of Britney’s trainwreck?

And just days after she wrapped filming on “How I Met Your Mother,” the “Piece of Me” singer will be lending a piece of herself to the boys over at South Park. It seems she can’t get enough television exposure.

According to a press release, “Britney Spears is trying to get away from it all in the mountains near South Park when the boys have a run-in with her. Stan and Kyle get caught up in Britney’s celebrity and the never-ending feeding frenzy that follows her wherever she goes.”
The new episode is scheduled to air this week on Comedy Central.

Britney Spears more cartoonish than ever

BRITNEY Spears has undergone a radical transformation for her latest video. In world exclusive screen shots courtesy of The Sun, you can see the troubled star has had the animation treatment. The audacious promo to forthcoming single Break The Ice is set in a futuristic world, and sees Brit depicted as a pretty, slim-line superhero.

And the unorthodox shoot was the star’s own idea. She told label bosses she wanted a cartoon version of her celebrated Toxic clip. The track itself is released on April 14. Meanwhile, Spears will appear on hit US TV show

The troubled singer - who first showed off her acting skills in the widely criticised 2002 movie Crossroads - will appear in the CBS sitcom in an episode due to air in April, a representative for the show confirmed.
Britney is expected to play a character called Abby - who works in the doctor's office owned by main character Ted - who is described as "sweet and friendly and scattered and a little nerdy".

The 26-year-old star is already working hard to make sure she is fully prepared for the role.
She was spotted leaving the 20th Century Fox studios in LA yesterday after having a script read-through with other cast members, including Alyson Hannigan, Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segal. The show revolves around Ted, played by Jason Segal, who tells his children the crazy stories behind how he met their mum.

As well as starring in Crossroads, Britney appeared on successful US TV show Will and Grace in 2006, and also starred in her own reality show with ex-husband Kevin Federline, Britney and Kevin: Chaotic.
In other news, Britney - who has an estimated $100 million fortune - has been given a $1500 weekly allowance by Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz.

In a ruling yesterday, the commissioner also approved hiring two specialist lawyers to help the mother-of-two sort out her financial affairs while she is under the temporary co-conservatorship of her father Jamie until July 31.
Geraldine Wyle, attorney for the conservators, said the allowance is intended to allow Britney to start to "enjoy herself and have some freedom of choice".

Sam Lutfi Calls Britney Spears To The Stand

Sam Lutfi is coming out fighting – and wants Britney Spears to help overturn a restraining order against him.

Britney’s former ‘manager’ – who is banned from going within 250 yards of the troubled pop star following drugging claims – is reportedly keen for her to take the stand when he fights his case in court.

Sam contacted Britney through a third party, according to the News of the World. "I am going to call Britney to the stand so she can tell the world how I was helping her," Sam reportedly said. "I am innocent. I am Britney's friend and would never hurt her."

Sam is expected to claim that Britney had access to drugs from other visitors to her L.A. home and generally criticise her parents during the March 17 hearing.
