Kevin Federline Joins the Britney Spears Circus

With all of the Britney Spears buzz going on--what with the documentary, the announcement of the tour, the birthday parties, and the general mania that’s been going on since her newfound sanity--it was only a matter of time before Kevin Federline crawled out of the woodwork to get a little attention for himself. Federline recently sat down with People to give what was advertised as, “his side of the story”--and it pretty much consisted of anecdotes about happier times. At least he deserves a bit of credit for resisting going the sensationalist route and opening up about all of the behind-closed-doors Britney Spears crazy he’s been subjected to.

When asked about his happiest time during his marriage to Spears, Federline answered, “Well, getting married. I never thought that I would get married but it wound up happening. That was a really, really, happy, exciting moment. I pretty much realized that I was giving my life to her, and I was doing it without question.”

When Federline was asked about his motivations for obtaining custody of his kids and whether or not it came down to getting money from Spears, Federline answered, “My first question to [my lawyer] was, "Am I ever going to be able to see my children?" I told him that I would spend every last dime that I had to make sure that my children are okay. That's all that mattered. I didn't know how much power Britney had. That really scared me.”

We kind of buy this. It would be easy to say that Federline was only going after Britney’s money, but even the most lackluster of fathers would likely go to bat pretty hard to get their kids away from Spears during the height of her head-shaving madness.

As for the infamous night when Britney Spears locked herself in the bathroom with son Jayden, shortly before being taken to the hospital on a gurney, Federline said, “That whole night is a blur. You want to talk about one of my lowest points of depression, that was probably one of them. I was very, very worried for her 'cause I care about her. That's the mother of my children. Just because I'm not in love with her doesn't mean that I don't love her. I'm definitely rooting for her. There's nothing more that I want than for her to be in the best health and doing what she loves to do."

Perhaps divorce and custody of his kids has been good for Kevin Federline. This is the first interview he’s ever given where he actually sounds like a fully functioning grown-up. Or is he just buttering us up so that we’ll finally accept his attempts at having a career in show business? Perhaps his ex-wife’s recent success has left Federline wanting to lay the groundwork for a comeback of his very own?

Britney Spears, almost 27, feels like an 'old person'? O RLY?

Britney x Britney Spears, who just jetted off to Europe to start her international "Circus" tour, tells Rolling Stone that she's really matured in the last year.
And not necessarily in a good way.
"I feel like an old person now," she says in Rolling Stone's next issue, out Friday. "I do! I go to bed at, like, 9:30 every night, and I don't go out or anything."
Spears turns 27 on Dec. 2, the day her album, "Circus," hits stores.

But it has been a busy year for the pop star: two trips to hospital psychiatric wards, head-shaving, car windshield-bashing, run-ins with the paparazzi and an affair with one of them, speaking in a British accent, stumbling disastrously onstage at the 2007 VMAs and then making an amazing comeback at the 2008 show.

Ever since her father, Jamie Spears, filed for legal conservatorship so that he could oversee her finances and personal affairs, her life has gotten saner and more normal. Well, as sane and normal as a famous pop star's life can be.

Will it last? Will Britney ever escape this micromanaged life she is now living?

Probably not as long as she keeps performing and bringing in the bucks. Maybe if she retires, she can live her own life.

Britney Spears : Britney’s son ‘released’ from hospital

Britney Spears’ young son Jayden James, who was taken to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center over the weekend after he reportedly had a severe allergic reaction to a food he ate, is now out of the hospital, according to reports.

The stunning singer was spotted carrying the 2-year-old out of the medical centre and into a waiting SUV Monday at about 6 p.m., a little more than 24 hours after the two-year-old was taken to the emergency room, reports E! Online.

Spears was guarded by a police and security escort.

According to one eyewitness, the singer “looked totally exhausted.”The 26-year-old mother of two took her youngest son directly back to her family’s “Serenity” compound in nearby Kentwood.

Earlier, Spears’ family posted a statement on her official website, www.britneyspears.com, saying Jayden James was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, and “doctors concluded he had a reaction to something he ingested.”

The trip by Spears to Louisiana, her childhood home, was the first time she had been allowed to leave California with sons Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden since their father Kevin Federline was given full custody in July. (ANI)

Britney Spears Brings The Boys To Louisiana

Hot damn! Brit Brit is back in the bayou! Brit Brit, SPF, JJ and Daddy Master Spears left Van Nuys at around 10:30 this morning on a private flying trailer bound for Kentwood, Louisiana. This is the first time since KFed got full custody that she's been allowed to take her lil' Cheetolets out of the state.

It's also the first time the boys have been to the Spears' hillbilly compound called "Serenity." Those pieces of trash would name their house thinking that makes them classy and shit! We all should name our apartments, houses, trailers, shelter bed or cardboard boxes. I think I'll name my apartment "Les Lucité" after my lord and savior The Empress of Lucite. When you name your shit, make sure you add an "é" somewhere in there to make it sound extra fancy.

A source tells OK!, that her royal Cheetoness is in Kentwood to lay around, snack on some vittles, shoot Shasta cans, chase roadkill and just relax before she has to start promoting her new album. Brit Brit also wants her boys to spend more quality time with their first cousin Maddie. Brit Brit and Jamie Lynn better keep a close eye on them, because you know how those hillbillies are!

Britney Spears to appear on Cowell's UK show

Simon Cowell has confirmed that Britney Spears will appear on his British talent show, “The X Factor,” the Daily Mail reported on Sunday.

The pop princess will be performing her No. 1 single “Womanizer.”

“I’m really excited about it,” Simon told the Daily Mail. “She has her act together and the new record is terrific.”
He went on to note that Britney’s public comeback – which began in September with her triumphant appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards, where she won three Moon Men – is a welcome return after a “dark” period.

“She has come back from a very dark place and is a terrific artist,” he said.

Britney’s appearance will reportedly come later this month.

As for Simon, he’s reportedly in good spirits after splitting from longtime girlfriend Terri Seymour.

He was “hugely relieved,” a source close to the “American Idol” judge told the Daily Mail.

Britney Spears Wearing Her Ex-Boyfriend's Ring

Fresh off the double good news that her 'Womanizer' single is Number One on the Billboard charts and her misdemeanor driving trial has ended in a hung jury, Britney Spears was spotted wearing a symbol of her troubled, turbulent recent past: a ring that her former paparazzi boyfriend Adnan Ghalib made for her.

TMZ.com snapped the comeback kid wearing the telltale bling, and reports that Ghalib has an identical ring as well.
Spears and Ghalib became an item during a time in which the singer shaved her head, dumped her manager, checked into a rehab center, and lost custody of her two young sons.

Recently, her career has appeared back on track, with a guest starring role on the sitcom 'How I met Your Mother,' her successful appearance at the MTV Music Awards, and good buzz surrounding the upcoming release of her album 'Circus.'

Video and pictures: Britney Spears' PVC and sexy secretary comeback

We're pleased to see Britney back on track and, in true drama queen fashion, she is marking her return to top form with new single Womanizer.

And, as the fab shots above from the video show, Britters is embracing change. In fact, in the words of crinkly crooner Lionel Richie, she's once, twice, three times a lady.

In the vid - watch a preview here - she turns from PVC-clad brunette waitress delivering a stiff drink to a table, to a sexy secretary in chevrons giving male colleagues what for, then back to her trademark blonde for a seductive bedroom scene.

Womanizer will be released on Brit's 27th birthday on December 2 and whatever her hair colour we're sure she'll be the mane attraction.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline reach custody agreement?

Britney Spears and ex husband Kevin Federline are said to have agreed to share care of their sons. Last month the judge overseeing their custody case asked the former couple to try to reach a settlement between themselves. And now insiders claim that Britney, 26, and K-Fed, 30, will put forward their proposal to LA Superior Court at a private hearing tomorrow.

‘Commissioner Alan Gordon told Britney and Kevin to mediate a deal to avoid the nightmare of a trial,’ says a source. ‘It seems they’ve done that and it all now hinges on whether the judge agrees with what they put to him.’
It's hoped he will accept that Britney is well enough to look after Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 21 months. ‘She’s in terrific spirits and is extremely hopeful that the judge will allow her to become a proper mum again,’ the source tells the Daily Star Sunday. ‘She believes she’s within sight of being the woman she once was and wants to rebuild her life as well as her career.'

Drew Peterson and Britney Spears??

The series of e-mails made public between Peterson and a woman named Ashley begin in March...with Peterson writing "How much broken glass do I need to crawl through to get a date with you?" Ashley writes "a date? When and where?" In April he writes, "Guess who I might get a date with as a publicity stunt? Britney Spears...a night on the town in Chicago." Peterson's publicist Glen Selig says that Peterson did exchange emails with the woman, but says it was all innocent flirting and the in the end Ashley wanted more -- which Drew couldn't give her.

"No, he is not going to be set-up with Britney Spears. I mean he's Drew, he's a jokester," Selig says.
Peterson a former Bolingbrook police sergeant has been named as the only suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife - 23-year-old Stacy Peterson. She vanished Oct. 23, 2007. The state police have classified the case a "potential homicide." Peterson has also been linked to the death of his third wife Kathleen Savio, who was found dead in a bathtub. Britney Spears records 'aggressive' new material

Britney Spears’ new album is under way and according to the producer with whom she is working, it’s “real aggressive”. Rodney Jerkins, who created hits with the likes of TLC, including the enormously successfully ‘No Scrubs’, and Brandy on her ’Full Moon’ album, is collaborating with Spears for the first time in seven years and says the new material is "very dance-y, very up-tempo, in the clubs, real aggressive, and catchy...very, very hook-friendly."

Jerkins told Rap-Up TV that Spears is a fast worker and that he plans to reinvent her sound for the 2009 release.
"It usually takes people a long time to record songs and we just did a song. She walked in at 8:30 and was out by 10:30 -- did the whole song -- in and out. …I love working with her. I'm just trying to reinvent her and reinvent myself with her project." The pair have been working together for around four weeks and Jerkins says that after after her failed 'comeback' at the MTV Awards last year, the singer is on a new path to success.

"I was very happy to see that she was working on the positive side and she's moving toward new things now. I think it's about to be her time again."

Britney Spears Working On New Album

(EZ-Tracks) - Britney Spears is working on a new album according to a report on RollingStone.com, which quoted Jim Beanz, a vocal producer who worked on several tracks on Spears’ latest album, Blackout. “Everyone has personal stuff, but a true professional doesn’t bring it into the studio,” said Beanz. “Britney is amazing.” According to Rolling Stone, since the release of Blackout last year, Spears has reunited with Larry Rudolph, her longtime manager who advised her when she was at the height of our popularity (and who Spears promptly fired after emerging from rehab in 2007).

Spears was recently in London starring in (and co-directing) the video for “Radar,” which will be the next single from Blackout, in which she searches the city for a boy she met in a club. The pop diva is currently in Louisiana, tending to her younger sister, Jamie Lynn, who recently gave birth.
Spears’ father is still in control of her legal affairs, but the matter is to be reviewed by a Los Angeles court on July 31.

Britney Spears' father granted to sell her L.A. home

BEIJING, June 18 (Xinhuanet) -- A Los Angeles court commissioner has agreed to allow Britney Spears' father to sell her home in the Los Angeles-area community, according to media reports Wednesday. Court Commissioner Reva Goetz Tuesday gave permission to her father Jamie Spears, who remains control of her finances and personal affairs, to sell the singer's Studio City home, a court spokeswoman said.

It was not immediately clear where she intends to move, but a source close to Spears said, "Having more privacy and wide open spaces for her to raise her boys has been a goal for some time."
Jamie became conservator of his 26-year-old's affairs in February after several highly publicized mishaps.

In March, a court granted Jamie the power to "sell or dispose of" an undisclosed number of her seven cars. Jamie remains in legal control of his daughter's affairs until a July 31 hearing.
The pop star and her father weren't in court during the ruling. A source tells People magazine that Spears is set to head back to Louisiana this week to be by her teenage sister Jamie Lynn Spears's side as the fomer "Zoey 101" star welcomes her first child with fiancé Casey Aldridge.

Britney Spears is coming to London!

It would indeed seem that Britney Spears is on a roll. On a roll of film, if indeed they still used such things. Because coming hot on the heels of her "hot and blonde" appearance in the Pussycat Dolls video is the news that Britney is heading our way - yes, our way - next week, filming the video for her upcoming single Radar. And she'll be directing as well as starring in it.

"The theme is: her and her girlfriends are going to be looking all around London trying to find a boy who she met in a club. Every time they think they have him, it's someone else," Britney's manager Larry Rudolph told the New York Post. "She will be behind the camera as much as possible; she wants to make sure it's exactly right."

Will it be as good as Fergie's video to London Bridge? Will Britney wear a saucy Beefeater's outfit? And do you suppose they need extras? Watch this space!

Britney Spears' BBQ ruined

Singer Britney Spears arrives with an unidentified woman at Barrigona beach on the Pacific coast in Samara. Britney Spears' plans for a family barbecue with her two sons were ruined because of bad weather this weekend. Britney Spears had to cancel a family party with her sons this weekend.

The troubled singer planned to host a pool party during a visit with her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, but bad weather spoiled the feast. A source said: "She started setting up around 1pm for what was intended to be an all-out bash."

Britney's dad Jamie, who is a trained cook, had planned a barbecue by the pool for the entire Spears family, but the arrangements had to be cancelled when it began to rain and temperatures dropped. Shortly after 5pm, Britney's sons returned home to their father Kevin Federline and Jamie also returned to his house as their day drew to a close.

The singer was stripped of visitation rights to two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James in January after she was ruled to be a danger to herself and the children. In February, the ruling was amended to allow occasional supervised visits with her sons, and a further hearing earlier this month saw her permitted to spend more time with them. Another hearing is due to take place in July.

Spears given more access to sons

A Los Angeles judge has granted Britney Spears greater access to her two sons, the lawyer for her ex-husband Kevin Federline said after a custody hearing. The lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, said Spears had made progress in getting her personal life back together. Federline has had full custody of their children since January, when Spears entered a psychiatric hospital.

The pop star's personal life spiralled out of control after her break-up from Federline in 2006.
A constant tail of paparazzi caught her increasingly erratic behaviour. The 26-year-old shaved her head, beat a car with an umbrella, entered rehab and was twice taken by ambulance to hospital psychiatric units. She lost custody of two-and-a-half-year-old Sean Preston and Jayden James, 20 months, in October and lost visiting rights in January.

Mr Federline agreed to occasional supervised visits in February.
Ms Spears's father has temporarily taken over control of the pop star's assets and estate. "We are so pleased at Britney's progress and we are very appreciative of the court's recognition of this progress," her parents said in a statement on Tuesday. She is due back in court in July for another progress report.

Dozens of photographers and reporters watched Ms Spears arrive as a front-seat passenger in a white Land Rover.
In recent months Ms Spears has kept a fairly low profile, but she did make an appearance last month on US sitcom How I Met Your Mother.

Wig out. Kids in. No news is good news for Britney

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The crazy pink wig hasn't been seen for weeks, late night dashes to the psychiatric ward have ceased and there are no more pictures without panties. Could no news finally be good news for Britney Spears? It has been a barren couple of months for scandal about Spears, 26, whose life became a front-page disaster in 2007 and early 2008 when she lost custody of her children, shaved her head, was seen distinctly underdressed at parties and was twice hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation.

Out of the limelight and under the guardianship of her father, Spears appears to be making so much progress that some people are even talking about a comeback.
"She has almost come back from the dead," said Harvey Levin, managing editor of celebrity Web site TMZ.com which still reports on her every move. "She is happy again, she seems stable. She is seeing her kids again, she is trying to get her recording career back. The crazy conduct is not there anymore. She is a different human being from how she was three months ago," Levin told Reuters.

Apart from a minor traffic incident on April 12 -- the kind of "fender-bender" experienced by virtually every Angeleno with a car -- the only recent news about Spears has been good.
She's been regularly working out at the gym and taking dance classes. She surprised critics with a sassy guest appearance in the TV sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" and has been photographed playing happily with her two sons after striking a visitation deal with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Spears submits legal papers questioning Federline expenses

Britney Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline lied about his income and business expenses, according to legal documents filed by the pop star's lawyer. Attorney Stacy Phillips claims Federline "understated his income by at least GBP100,000" and that he exaggerated having GBP400,000 worth of business expenses, reports website TMZ.com.

The legal papers, which have been submitted as part of the former couple's ongoing custody battle, also suggest Federline earned GBP272,037.36 from his company Gooseneck Productions in 2007 - and his expenses totalled GBP420,564.33.

Phillips also accuses Federline of claiming business expenses including "extraordinarily high tips for food and beverage services" such as GBP550.38 on a GBP1,391 bill.

The Toxic singer was recently ordered to pay Federline's legal bills, which Phillips says are excessive and which Federline can afford to pay himself.
Spears and Federline are currently battling over custody of their two sons, Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one. Federline has full custody of the kids.

Britney Spears Celebrates Mom’s Birthday

Believe it or not, the recent drama in Britney Spears’ life just may have helped her family dynamic. Last night the “Gimme More” singer was out with father Jamie and mother Lynne to celebrate Lynne’s birthday.

The Spears trio landed at Café Malibu in Malibu, California for an enchanted evening that saw Jamie and Lynne acting more civil and loving than they have since their divorce. Could it be that some good could actually come out of Britney’s trainwreck?

And just days after she wrapped filming on “How I Met Your Mother,” the “Piece of Me” singer will be lending a piece of herself to the boys over at South Park. It seems she can’t get enough television exposure.

According to a press release, “Britney Spears is trying to get away from it all in the mountains near South Park when the boys have a run-in with her. Stan and Kyle get caught up in Britney’s celebrity and the never-ending feeding frenzy that follows her wherever she goes.”
The new episode is scheduled to air this week on Comedy Central.

Britney Spears more cartoonish than ever

BRITNEY Spears has undergone a radical transformation for her latest video. In world exclusive screen shots courtesy of The Sun, you can see the troubled star has had the animation treatment. The audacious promo to forthcoming single Break The Ice is set in a futuristic world, and sees Brit depicted as a pretty, slim-line superhero.

And the unorthodox shoot was the star’s own idea. She told label bosses she wanted a cartoon version of her celebrated Toxic clip. The track itself is released on April 14. Meanwhile, Spears will appear on hit US TV show

The troubled singer - who first showed off her acting skills in the widely criticised 2002 movie Crossroads - will appear in the CBS sitcom in an episode due to air in April, a representative for the show confirmed.
Britney is expected to play a character called Abby - who works in the doctor's office owned by main character Ted - who is described as "sweet and friendly and scattered and a little nerdy".

The 26-year-old star is already working hard to make sure she is fully prepared for the role.
She was spotted leaving the 20th Century Fox studios in LA yesterday after having a script read-through with other cast members, including Alyson Hannigan, Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segal. The show revolves around Ted, played by Jason Segal, who tells his children the crazy stories behind how he met their mum.

As well as starring in Crossroads, Britney appeared on successful US TV show Will and Grace in 2006, and also starred in her own reality show with ex-husband Kevin Federline, Britney and Kevin: Chaotic.
In other news, Britney - who has an estimated $100 million fortune - has been given a $1500 weekly allowance by Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz.

In a ruling yesterday, the commissioner also approved hiring two specialist lawyers to help the mother-of-two sort out her financial affairs while she is under the temporary co-conservatorship of her father Jamie until July 31.
Geraldine Wyle, attorney for the conservators, said the allowance is intended to allow Britney to start to "enjoy herself and have some freedom of choice".

Sam Lutfi Calls Britney Spears To The Stand

Sam Lutfi is coming out fighting – and wants Britney Spears to help overturn a restraining order against him.

Britney’s former ‘manager’ – who is banned from going within 250 yards of the troubled pop star following drugging claims – is reportedly keen for her to take the stand when he fights his case in court.

Sam contacted Britney through a third party, according to the News of the World. "I am going to call Britney to the stand so she can tell the world how I was helping her," Sam reportedly said. "I am innocent. I am Britney's friend and would never hurt her."

Sam is expected to claim that Britney had access to drugs from other visitors to her L.A. home and generally criticise her parents during the March 17 hearing.

Britney Spears' Bizarre Dress Request

Britney Spears threw a hissy fit when an L.A. boutique was unable to meet her bizarre demands, according to a U.S. report.

The troubled singer reportedly stunned staff at the Betsey Johnson on Melrose Ave when she showed up earlier this month with a dress that she expected the store to copy so that she could wear it the same evening.

An eyewitness tells Gatecrasher, "the staff explained that they didn't have a dressmaker on call who could do it in time."
But the pop wreck didn't go away empty handed.

Continues the source: "The only thing she wanted to buy in the store was the yellow wig on a mannequin in the window. The manager eventually agreed to offer it to her for $100."

Meanwhile, Britney was caught on camera losing it after a pink-wigged reporter tried to give her a gift during a Starbucks run.

Lawyer: Britney Spears's Civil Rights Violated

The man who claims to be Britney Spears's new lawyer says that the pop star is being "deprived of her Constitutional rights" and tells PEOPLE he is seeking a "return to normalcy" when it comes to Spears's living and legal situations.

Jon Eardley, a lawyer with practices in Washington, D.C., New York and Whittier, Calif., filed a complaint in U.S. District Court on behalf of Spears on Thursday. He lashed out against the existing conservatorship as a "violation of [Spears's] civil rights," and requested the case be moved from California state court to a federal court.

"I see the case as a civil rights case," he tells PEOPLE. "These are issues of confinement. Very serious confinement. Not allowed to contact her friends. Not allowed to use the phone. Not allowed to come and go as you please. Bodyguards controlling you and so forth."

Spears's father Jamie was granted temporary conservatorship – allowing legal control of his daughter's well-being and finances – after Spears was placed under an involuntary, emergency hold at the UCLA Medical Center's psychiatric ward late last month.

Since her release on Feb. 6, she has spent much of her time at her Studio City home, and when she does go out, she is usually driven by a bodyguard. In court papers, Eardley states: "She is being confined by the conservator to the private prison of her own home."

On Friday, a Superior Court spokesperson said that the existing conservatorship and other orders "are still in effect," and that court officials are unaware of any federal court action or scheduled hearings on the matter.

Legal Maneuvering

"The saddest part [of the legal maneuvering] is it is all to [Britney's] detriment," says a legal insider. "The limited conservatorship puts in place medical care and protection of her assets that may be put at risk by the distraction and expense of having to get such an opportunistic and counterproductive action dismissed."
In fact, legal experts say Eardley's legal gambit is unlikely to succeed. "It's not like the judge read papers filed by one side and made decisions without giving each side due process," says Loyola Law School Professor Stan Goldman, who is not involved in the case.

"It would be quite surprising if the federal court granted a hearing on this," he adds, "and a total shocker if it ruled against the conservatorship."
In addition, the Superior Court has found that Spears "lacks the capacity" to retain counsel of her choosing. Because of that, lawyer Adam Streisand, who went to court on Feb. 4 to challenge the conservatorship on her behalf, removed himself himself from the case.

Spears Sought Out Lawyer

Eardley says he has not met the pop star, but Spears sought him out: "She reached out by phone. I have no idea how [she got my number]."
The attorney says he doesn't normally represent celebrity clients. But now Eardley has hired spokesperson Michael Sands, who until recently worked with Kevin Federline's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan.

When asked if Spears's often-erratic behavior posed a danger to herself and others, Eardley answered, "I don’t," adding that he sees far worse cases on the streets.
"In downtown Los Angeles I'm surrounded by people talking to themselves and having fits on the street," says Eardley. "They are out in public. They are not being institutionalized."

Court filing seeks to move Britney Spears case

The father of troubled pop star Britney Spears will retain control over her affairs for about three more weeks, a court ruled on Thursday, even as a new attorney sought to move the case to federal jurisdiction. The attorney, Jon Eardley, is linked to an associate of Spears' self-styled manager Sam Lutfi, and in the filing the attorney claims the case should be moved from state court because Spears' is being deprived of her civil liberties.

Jamie Spears was granted "temporary conservatorship" over his 26-year-old daughter's affairs two weeks ago when she was in a Los Angeles hospital for psychiatric evaluation. Los Angeles Court Commissioner Reva Goetz has now extended that conservatorship -- which gives him control over her business, finances and some personal affairs -- until March 10, a court spokesman said.

In addition, Spears' brother Bryan, 30, was been named co-trustee of his sister's trust along with Los Angeles attorney Ivan Taback. But in a related filing, Eardley said the case should be moved to federal court because the essential issue on which Jamie Spears was granted conservatorship centers on medication Spears is supposed to take.

Hot or Not? Dissecting Paris Hilton

It’s late afternoon at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills—yes, that same Four Seasons Britney Spears checked herself into on so many subsequent nights—and Paris Hilton, perhaps herself the original paparazzi magnet, is signing her CD for an eager fan… a journalist there to interview her actually. That’s kind of a no-no in our profession, actually.

But the hotel heiress happily obliges, despite being bleary-eyed from a day spent promoting her new film The Hottie and the Nottie. And when she sits down before a room of rabid “reporters”—and I say that because many of these so-called journalists preferred to remind Paris of ‘that time we sat together at an awards show’ or ‘the event I photographed you at in Milan back in 2003’ than to ask her any legitimate questions—it’s with all the charm of a finishing school A-lister. It’s as if the media is powerless against her—when she walks into a room, some seem amped knock her off her game, others ponder the media giant she’s almost inexplicably become—and yet no one can take their eyes off of her.

This mini mogul (at just 26, she has movies, books, modeling gigs, a TV series, an album, a perfume line, canned wine and more to her credit) is just as famous for her jail time, sex tape and very public slips of the tongue as she is for the empire she’s built. She’s a new breed of celebrity. One minute she begs to be taken seriously as an actress, rattling off the name of her acting coach and offering a convincing sound-byte on the deeper message behind her film. The next she giggles and says ‘not sure’ when asked who she’s planning to vote for in the upcoming presidential election.

And yet the press eats it up like candy—one ‘reporter’ alludes to a scene in the film in which Christabel, Hilton’s character, slaps a restraining order against a male suitor with the demand, ‘That better be 40-feet.’ Paris laughs, remembering the moment, then proceeds to tell the room about her own stalker… the one who slept outside of her home for days on end, kidnapped her dog and then miraculously rescued it days later.“( For me) it was Teen and Tiger Beat—there was none of this kind of paparazzi, because it was all planned ahead of time. There wasn’t anything like this back then”, she laughs. The actress got to further taste Hilton’s world on a recent night out on the town.
